Rebel Wilson and Charles Melton may be starring in the upcoming movie “K-Pop: Lost in America”!
According to an exclusive report by Deadline, the two actors have both been cast in the new Hollywood film “K-Pop: Lost in America,” which is expected to begin filming this fall.
The movie, which was announced last year as being slated for a 2023 release, will tell the story of a K-pop boy group that finds themselves stranded in Texas just days before their global debut tour kicks off at New York’s Madison Square Garden. With no phones, no money, and no transportation, the group must overcome a series of “crazy obstacles” in order to make it to New York City in time for their U.S. debut.
“K-Pop: Lost in America” will be directed by JK Youn (also known as Yoon Je Kyun), the South Korean filmmaker known for movies like “Haeundae” (“Tidal Wave”) and “Ode to My Father.” Last year, the film’s producers—Linda Obst of “Interstellar” and Miky Lee of “Parasite”—stated that they planned to cast actual K-pop stars in the movie.
Notably, “Riverdale” star Charles Melton is half-Korean, and he and his family briefly lived in Korea for several years during his childhood.
