tvN’s “Twenty Five, Twenty One” has shared a sneak peek of Nam Joo Hyuk and Kim Tae Ri’s chemistry from its upcoming episode!
Set in 1998, “Twenty Five, Twenty One” is a drama about two young people who fall in love amidst the aftermath of the IMF crisis. Kim Tae Ri stars as Na Hee Do, an aspiring fencer, while Nam Joo Hyuk stars as Baek Yi Jin, whose family was torn apart due to the financial crisis.
Previously on “Twenty Five, Twenty One,” Na Hee Do and Baek Yi Jin cheered each other on from afar after being separated when Baek Yi Jin moved to the countryside with his younger brother. They went on to share a heartwarming reunion after Baek Yi Jin returned to Seoul as a reporter for UBS, and when Na Hee Do nearly missed competing in the finals for the Asian Games, Baek Yi Jin came to her rescue and made it possible for her to (just barely) arrive on time.
In newly released stills from the drama’s next episode, Baek Yi Jin and Na Hee Do are enjoying a nighttime stroll with ice cream when a motorcycle suddenly speeds past. In order to protect her, Baek Yi Jin suddenly grabs Na Hee Do and pulls her close, leading to a moment that is certain to make not only Na Hee Do’s but viewers’ hearts flutter as well.
After Na Hee Do gets ice cream on her face due to Baek Yi Jin suddenly grabbing her and pulling her in, he tenderly wipes it off her face for her—while Na Hee Do appears bashfully unable to meet his eyes.
The producers of “Twenty Five, Twenty One” revealed, “Kim Tae Ri and Nam Joo Hyuk ceaselessly pondered over how to improve the quality of this profoundly meaningful scene, and the two actors made a strong impression with how hard they worked.”
They went on to tease, “When the two characters meet again after many ups and downs, a new tension arises between them. To find out what that new tension feels like, please tune in to the show.”
The next episode of “Twenty Five, Twenty One” will air on March 5 at 9:10 p.m. KST.
In the meantime, watch Nam Joo Hyuk in “Josee” with subtitles below!
