JTBC’s upcoming drama “Thirty-Nine” shared a heart-warming teaser! “Thirty-Nine” is about three friends who met in their second year of high school and are now on the verge of turning 40. The drama will tell the beautiful and emotional everyday stories of three 39-year-old women who encounter unforeseen circumstances in their lives. Son Ye Jin plays Cha Mi Jo, the head dermatologist of a clinic in Gangnam. Jeon Mi Do takes the role of Jung Chan Young, an acting teacher who previously dreamed of becoming an actress, and Kim Ji Hyun stars as Jang Joo Hee, a department store cosmetics manager. The newly released teaser begins with a glimpse of the trio’s close friendship. Concerning their relationship, Cha Mi Jo affectionately says, “[To say that we’re] friends who are like family wouldn’t even [describe it].” But their peaceful life is shattered when the word “death” appears before them. In a trembling voice, Cha Mi Jo denies the truth, and tears flood down Jang Joo Hee’s face. Jung Chan Young is spotted struggling in pain, and Cha Mi Jo loses consciousness. Then Cha Mi Jo’s voiceover states, “While we’re together, are we going to have fun or be seriously sad?” With teary eyes, she makes an effort to smile and says, “Be the terminally ill patient with the most exciting [life].” The clip ends with the trio happily watching the falling snow with Kim Sun Woo (Yeon Woo Jin), Kim Jin Seok (Lee Moo Saeng), and Park Hyun Joon (Lee Tae Hwan). “Thirty-Nine” will premiere on February 16 at 10:30 p.m. KST.
